BLIND SCULPTURES - HOMAGE TO JOSEPH BEUYS (2008 - 2009)

Digital Stone Project, Trenton, NJ

Sculptures from white marble created during 6 months artist's residency at the Digital Stone Project with digital milling technology. The sculptures are based on clay models created 'blindly'. The aim was to go against classical sculpture as I know it or as I practiced it before. I believe that each new technology needs different creative approach and conceptual thinking - I wanted to let the machines to create the shape and altered it only slightly at the end of the process.

The sculptures will be exhibited in Fall 2009 in Trenton.
